Leap Castle

Leap Castle has a long history of murder and torture. Over 400 years ago, this was the home and stronghold of the O'Carroll family. They had hired mercenaries to kill their enemies, only to kill the soldiers when they came seeking payment.

There was a special room called the Oubliette. It was a windowless room without a floor that lead to the dungeon below. If they wanted to kill you, they would ask you upstairs. When you least expect it, they would push you into the Oubliette. You would fall down to the dungeon, where large spikes waited to impale you. The O'Carrolls would happily listen to your tortured screams as you bled to death.

Moving Virgin Mary Statue in Ballinspittle

In 1985, a man was out walking late one night and looked upon the statue of the Virgin Mary. He swore he saw it levitate. Being a retired police officer, he went to investigate after it was back on its base. He determined that it was no hoax.

Afterwards, the legend spread like wildfire. Other people stepped forth, claiming to have seen the statue rise up and off its foundations. Ballinspittle isn't the only place across Ireland to have these moving statues.

Corney

Corney is a ghost that was just a wee bit mischievous. The family that first owned his in Dublin knew when this poltergeist was around by the mimiced sound of a cane on the floor. He would then speak loudly to the family and servants. He was named Corney by the family. He accepted it butmade sure everyone knew it wasn't his name.

Corney was a complete nuisance. He played pranks on the terrified servants constantly. They thought he was confused to coal cellar in the kitchen and asked for quarters on the upper floors. It was soon clear Corney wasn't confined to one area. One, the pranks moved with the servants. And two, he said so.
