Rusalka

According to most legends, the Rusalka is a fish woman that lives in the bottom of rivers. She is similar to mermaids or sirens, lururing handsome men down to the bottom of the river with songs and seductive dancing.

Most people believe that this dark mermaid is a kind of "unclean force". Because of it being a female apparition, it is believed she either committed suicide because she was jilted by her lover, or that she wasn't married when she became pregnant.

New Year Massacre

On December 31st, a family was preparing for their annual New Years Eve Party. The father was in the lounge ironing clothes, the mother was in the kitchen cutting sausage and cabbage, and their son was running around with scissors and getting in everyone's way.

Suddenly, the boy ran into his mother. The scissors cut the back of her leg. The mother fell backwards and lost her grip on the knife. The boy was right beneath her. The knife fell into his chest and pierced his heart.He died instantly. The mother screamed.

Old Woman of Ostankino

The name of this district comes from "ostanki", which means " remains in Russian. The television towere which stands there was built on the sight of an old cemetery.

Some 500+ years ago, the Old Woman of Ostankino first appeared. She appeared to the first ruler of Ostankino, Boyar Satin, and forbid himfrom tilling the land because it would upset the dead. She was chased out of town and the land tilled. Soon after, the Boyar fell to disgrace and and was excited.
